Running Numbers (also referred to as Sequences) control the automatic numbering of your documents and works — for example, invoice numbers, quotation numbers, and work order numbers.
Accessing Running Numbers
Go to Settings → Running Numbers.
Configuring a Sequence
Each sequence has:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Prefix | Text before the number (e.g. INV-, Q-, WORK-) |
| Next Number | The next number that will be assigned |
| Padding | Minimum digits — pad with leading zeros (e.g. 0001) |
To update a sequence:
- Click on the sequence name
- Edit the prefix, next number, or padding
- Save
Available Sequences

Resetting or Advancing the Counter
You can manually set the Next Number to any value — useful when migrating from another system and you want to continue your existing numbering.

Lowering the next number below already-issued numbers can cause duplicate reference numbers. Only advance (increase) the counter unless you're certain no lower numbers have been used.
