Custom Headers

Custom Headers let you add extra fields to contacts, addresses, and work orders — for example, a Purchase Order Number or Project Reference field. The values entered in these fields appear on the relevant record and can be printed on PDFs.

Accessing Custom Headers

Go to Settings → Custom Headers.

The page has four tabs, one for each record type:

Tab Where the field appears
Contact Contact detail page
Contact Address Contact address section
Document Address Document billing/shipping address
Work Work order detail page

Custom Headers Table

Each tab shows a table with these columns:

Column Description
No. Display order (drag rows to reorder)
Name Field label shown on the record
Type System (built-in) or Custom (user-created)
API Field Name Internal field identifier for integrations
Field Type Text, Number, Textarea, or Dropdown
Required Whether the field must be filled in
Enabled Whether the field is currently active

Adding a Custom Header

Each tab supports up to 10 custom headers. The + Add Custom Header button is disabled when the limit is reached.

  1. Select the tab for the record type you want to customise
  2. Click + Add Custom Header
  3. Fill in the fields:
Field Description
Name Label shown on the record (required)
API Field Name Optional identifier for external integrations
Field Type Text, Number, Textarea, or Dropdown
Field Options If Dropdown is selected, enter the option values here
Required Toggle on to make the field mandatory
Enabled Toggle on to make the field visible
Display in table Toggle on to show the field as a column in list views
  1. Click Save

Reordering Headers

Drag rows up or down in the table to change the display order. The order saves automatically when you drop the row.

Editing a Header

Click the edit icon or click anywhere on a row to open the edit modal. System headers (Type: System) have limited editable fields.

Deleting a Header

Click the delete icon to remove a custom header. System headers cannot be deleted.

Tip

Custom headers are useful when clients require a reference number (like a PO number) on an invoice — add it as a required field so it's never forgotten.
